Harrison School for the Performing Arts will perform with the Doris
Sanders Learning Center at Mayfaire on Saturday, May 10, in front of
the Lakeland Library, at 9:30 a.m.
The Harrison Symphony Orchestra and Harrison Singers present "The
Testament of Freedom" by Randall Thompson, as a tribute to our troops
serving abroad. The Harrison Music Department concert will take place
on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, on the main stage of the Lois Cowles Harrison
Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, at 7:30 p.m.
Concert attendees are asked to bring additional items and drop them at
boxes located at the entrance to the auditorium. These items will be
mailed to troops from Polk County serving in Iraq.
Ticket prices are $5 for students/seniors and $7 for adults. Tickets
may be purchased on the Harrison secure site (www.harrisonarts.com)
using a credit card and will include a nominal merchant fee. Remember
to bring your e-ticket to the event. Tickets will be available at the

"It's Happening
Downtown" will again play host to "Antiques, Art, and
Oddities" in Downtown Lake Wales on May 3 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. when
upwards of 30 to 40 artisans and antique dealers will participate in this very
unique antique fair, always held the 1st Saturday of each month.
The Continuum Visual Arts Exhibit, inspired by faculty artist Rocky Bridges' tour of Japan, is currently on display in the Mitchell Gallery of the Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, through May 30, 2008.
